You will Enjoy a day trip to the Ourika Valley from Marrakech, for an escape from the bustling city and an introduction to the High Atlas Mountains, explore the valley, experience a Berber market, and stop to visit the village of Setti Fatma, Ourika Valley, at the foot hills of the High Atlas Mountains is only a 45 minutes south east of Marrakech, the valley offers a great escape from the heat of Marrakech for the locals during summer months.
Starting travelling to Ourika Valley via the villages of Asni and Tahnaout, this tour will take you through the three valleys including Tahnaout Valley, the Mulay Brahim Gorge and the Berber village of Asni, you will also have the opportunity to visit a Berber family and experience our culture, after a 30 minutes drive via the fertile Haouz Planes, you will reach Tnin Ouika center, where you will stop for lunch in open air Berber local restaurant, next you have the option to take 2 hours hiking, you will walk through the Berber village of Setti Fatma, and within the fields where you may well see monkeys in the wild, and experience great views of the waterfall.
Afterwards, you will head back to Marrakech, tour ends at your accommodation or any place of your choice in Marrakech.
Essaouira Day Trip
Your private tour starts at your hotel or riad, depart Marrakech, to Essaouira, “Mogador” driving through lush valleys filled with orange groves, ancient olive trees, and working farms, continue past your first Argan trees, these special trees are valued for their nutritive, cosmetic, and medicinal properties, looking for better food they can’t find on the ground, a relic species from the Tertiary age, is extremely well adapted to drought and other environmentally difficult conditions of southwestern Morocco, and while now endangered, under the protection of UNESCO, here you will have the opportunity to visit the women’s co-operative of Argan oil where they extract the oil that is famous for its culinary, cosmetic and medical properties.
Arrive in Essouira, and wander the ancient streets, where it’s easy to imagine life before you, then start our exploration of the city, you’ll visit the Skala Fortress; see Thuya wood carved by artisans, walk through the alleys of the medina, where you can see hundreds of handicrafts.
Essaouira is known for its strong winds most of the year so it is known as the “City of the wind” thus it attracts wind surfers from all over the world, Essaouira knew many civilizations – including the Portuguese occupation, which affects much of its architecture – however, it remains a small village with much history, because of its size and its characteristic blue doors and washed walls, it is also regarded as Morocco’s “Jewel of the Atlantics”.
Our visit includes the Mellah – the Jewish headquarter, in Essaouira, several small art galleries are found all over the town, since 1998 Essaouira is getting known by its Gnaoua Festival of World Music, normally it is scheduled in the last week of June. It brings artists from all over the world. Although focused on Gnaoua music, it includes rock, jazz and reggae. In early 1952 the film director and actor Orson Welles made his movie Othello, now there is a square named Orson Welles, usually the Gnaoua Festival starts in the second week of June, so if your trip coincides with this, you have the option to extend your stay for an extra day.
